Sony Ericsson has been making some aggressive stride with the Android Operating System through its Xperia range.One of the interesting devices that the company plans to launch under this series will be Xperia Active, which will be targeted at the consumer with ab active lifestyle.
The most noteworthy thing about this handset is that it is dust proof and has Scratch resistant multi touch screen. Another interesting feature in this handset is that wet finger tracking, which helps in ensure the phone works perfectly even when used with wet fingers. Apart from Motorola Defy, this will be the first handset to offer such sturdy functionalities. Sony Ericsson claims that the handset will continue to work perfectly even after being submerged in 1 meter of water for full thirty minutes.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Active comes with 3"screen and packs Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine. There is also a 5 megapixel camera with HD video functionality. The handset is also powered by 1 GHz processor and is running on the latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread. As the handset is targetting people with an "active" lifestyle, it will also have some sports applications pre-loaded on the device.
The company also plans to offer detachable ear hooks for the portable hands-free active handset and a wrist strap.
